Dimant Resolutions: Conflict Coaching Workshop

Conflict Coaching is a process designed to assess and develop an individual’s communication skills and conflict management strategies. This can either be in response to a specific conflict, or available to those who simply want to strengthen their communication and conflict management skills. People who receive coaching increase their confidence to handle difficult conversations successfully.

This event is open to: OEA Mediation Network, OEA Staff or Leaders. Professional Mediators are invited to attend for a $250 fee, collected at sign-in on the first day of training. Space is limited to 30 participants.

Learning Objectives:

‣Identify when conflict coaching can be helpful

‣ Help people discern from what is their responsibility to the conflict and what is the other person’s

‣ Provide assessment to identify the person’s communication challenges

‣ Assess the goals someone has for themselves and their relationship

‣ Practice ways to help someone change their negative thinking to positive solutions

‣ Guide in the creation of a new way to collaborate with the other person or a group

‣ Provide skillful ways that someone can coach when a high conflict person/s are involved

About the Instructor:

Tsipora Dimant has been a mediator and a conflict coach for the past 32 years. She initiated the mediation program at OEA (Oregon Education Association), which now serves 40,000 members who seek mediation or conflict coaching. She also teaches mediation and conflict coaching classes for OEA, Portland Community College, the City of Hillsboro, the City of Milwaukie and for Multnomah County.
