I am a licensed psychologist, and a significant part of my practice is devoted to assisting parents in managing stress during and after divorce, both in their personal and working lives. This work is represented in Collaborative Divorce cases as a mental health coach for parents. My orientation is to help the client be an effective participant in the collaborative process. This often means identifying spousal relationship habits that are counter-productive to reaching agreements and teaching skills for new ways of communicating/interacting that can be useful in the process-and hopefully beyond. This work may also include education on parenting plans and co-parenting approaches, facilitating the substantive aspects of negotiation.
