The course introduces students to the themes, practices and skill-building in Mediation with an emphasis on mediation in intercultural and diverse settings. Mediation is a confidential process in which an impartial person, a mediator, helps two or more parties voluntarily work towards a mutually acceptable, self-determined agreement. Students taking Mediation for Intercultural & Diverse Settings will learn how to communicate with the parties to a Mediation, promote understanding, help the parties focus on their needs, and seek creative problem-solving to enable parties to resolve their dispute. This is an introductory course for anyone who is interested in becoming a mediator or learning better communication skills in conflict situations. Participants will learn to use mediation skills to help resolve conflicts in the workplace, courts, business or community related disputes. Skills can also be used in your personal life! Trainer: Tsipora Dimant has been a mediator for over 25 years.
