Toxic Family Systems:  Resist/Refuse Dynamics and Parental Alienation

Come join Kathleen Zumpano and Dr. Zena Polly for a presentation on this important topic. In “agreeable” Collaborative and Mediation cases, it can be harder to spot problematic family dynamics. Come learn about warning signs, the continuum of parent – child contact problems and possible interventions from these two experts.

Please bring your questions, and especially your ideas and thoughts about how we might use these insights to our Collaborative work.

Kathleen Zumpano, MA, MFT, a former child and family therapist, works as a child development specialist, mediator and parent coach who has focused her practice on assisting families during and after divorce. She has been providing therapeutic services to children and families for over 15 years. Kathleen is trained in Counseling Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, with a specialization in Children in the Context of Families. She holds two bachelor’s degrees, in Psychology and Human Development and Family Sciences. Kathleen has presented trainings across the U.S. and Canada and serves on the Oregon Statewide Family Law Advisory Committee.

Dr. Zena Polly, a psychologist for over 40 years, divides her professional time between a therapy practice (including Child Specialist and co-parenting work), and professional supervision and training regarding the intersection of family mental health and family law. Zena’s work follows the kids, whether their parents’ circumstances have taken them to mediation, Collaborative processes or litigation.  She earned her undergraduate degree from UCLA,  a Masters in Community Psychology from Cal. State-Long Beach, and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Arizona State University.

There should be plenty of time for questions and discussion within the group.

Come Zoom with your OACP colleagues! Please join us, if you can, for an informative discussion.

Feel free to eat lunch during the Zoom…
